Guests at a family polo farm in the South experienced an evening that unfolded like chapters in a book, each space offering its own mood and story. Over eight days, a back field was transformed into a layered celebration in moss green, espresso brown, cream, and gold, colors drawn from the countryside and the gentleman’s horse farm where he feels most at peace. The event, held in October for 128 guests, combined luxury dining with thoughtful design rooted in place.

The evening began in what the hosts called the “library” for cocktail hour, a space meant to feel like the welcoming heart of a family home. Rich textures and layered details filled the tent, with a custom hat bar adding an interactive touch. This informal gathering featured elevated southern bites: fried oyster bites with whipped blue cheese, deviled eggs, and shrimp and grit cakes with tasso gravy, all prepared by Hamby Catering. The catering team’s work earned “Best Catered Wedding” at the 2026 CATIE Awards from the International Caterers Association.

Dinner took place in a second space, where warm light played over tables dressed in Rustic Plaid Moss and Café Noir Velvet linens. The setting aimed to capture a low country autumn with an emphasis on quiet luxury, a mix of masculine edge and feminine detail with heritage charm and modern polish, inspired by Ralph Lauren’s aesthetic. The plated service offered a synchronized dual entree of filet and salmon, paired with a full wine service.

After hours of dancing, the curtains pulled back to reveal a third area: an after-party room draped in chocolate velvet. Here, the bride changed into a sequined fringe dress by Là Fuori. Earlier, she had worn a wedding gown and veil by Sareh Nouri for portraits and dinner, then switched to a short dress by Alexis for dancing. There were no bridesmaids; instead, the bride’s closest friends wore outfits they loved, coordinating naturally for photos.

The ceremony had taken place months earlier, in June, in the bride’s hometown of Baltimore. This timing was partly due to the bride’s mother’s illness. The family wanted her to be part of the moment, and thankfully she was able to attend the October celebration as well.

Small, meaningful touches were woven throughout the day. The bride wore a bracelet once given to her mother by her late father, engraved with “I love you” in multiple languages. The groom’s family farm dog wandered freely, becoming a popular figure in portraits and even on the dance floor.

Event planning was handled by Reagan Events, with floral design by Em Creative Floral. Invitations came from Cheree Berry Paper, and lighting was provided by Technical Event Company. The entertainment lineup included DJ Rowshay and the Atlanta Showstoppers band. Rentals came from several vendors including Reverie Social, BBJ Linen, La Tavola Linen, Emerson James Rental, Crush by EventWorks, Curated Events Charleston, and Nuage Designs.

The entire weekend’s vibe was hospitality and intention, reflecting kindness from the couple through the creative team. The design did not just decorate a space but invited guests into the peacefulness of the farm itself. The color palette and material choices echoed the natural surroundings, creating an atmosphere that was both refined and grounded.

After dinner, the late-night menu shifted to comfort food: mini pizzas, chicken nuggets, and fries served in custom boxes, making it easy for guests to refuel without interrupting the flow of the party.

This wedding’s appeal lies in its balance between elegance and warmth, a celebration shaped by place and people rather than trends. It wasn’t about flashy details but about feeling invited into a family’s world—one where a polo farm becomes a stage for layers of memory and joy.

If you’re thinking about a wedding with texture and story, this the kind of day that asks you to consider how to move guests through moments that feel connected yet distinct. And yes, a hat bar can be a lot of fun.
