The arch was shaped like a heart and covered in red roses. Petals ran along the floor, a guitarist played, and a neon sign spelled out the only question that mattered: “Will You Marry Me?”
On Wednesday, 28 October 2026, Naa Ayeley Hammond, first runner-up at TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful in 2023, shared photos of the moment on Instagram. Her caption was short: “Two hearts, one promise, and God at the centre.”
Who is Naa Ayeley?
Her full name is Deborah Fidelia Naa Ayeley Hammond. She was born on 21 January 2000, attended Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School (AMOSA) in Cape Coast, and studied political science and theatre arts at the University of Ghana. In 2021, at 21, she was crowned Face of Legon.
Two years later she represented the Greater Accra Region at Ghana’s Most Beautiful. She won the Most Eloquent award twice during the season and was named star performer in the business pitch episode. At the finale at the National Theatre on 8 October 2023, the crown went to Selorm Gafah of the Volta Region, with Naa Ayeley close behind as first runner-up.
Since then she has served as an ambassador for the Ga Mantse Foundation, an appointment she announced on 1 January 2025, and runs her own events business, Fidelia Ushering Agency.
A mystery groom
The proposal photos showed plenty of roses and very little of the man who arranged them. Naa Ayeley has not named her fiance publicly, and the pictures she shared kept the focus on the setting and the ring. YEN.com.gh, reporting the engagement, could only describe him as her “mystery fiance”.
Keeping a partner out of the spotlight is a choice many public figures make, and it leaves the reveal for the wedding itself. For a woman who spent a season of reality television being judged on camera, it is an understandable one.
Proposal ideas worth borrowing
For couples planning their own moment, the Naa Ayeley setup works because every element is simple and photographs well. A floral arch gives the frame. Rose petals on the floor create a path for the walk in. Live music, even a single guitarist, fills the silence while she takes it in. And a lit sign means the question is in every photo, even the ones taken from behind.
None of it needs a ballroom. The same look can be built in a garden, on a rooftop or in a hired event space, and most Accra decorators can supply arches and neon signs on short notice.
A busy week
The engagement was only the start of Naa Ayeley’s news. On Monday, 2 November 2026, she announced on Facebook that she had joined Media General, the parent company of TV3, as a Business Development Executive. The company that put her on national television three years ago is now her employer.
No wedding date has been announced. Given how she handled the proposal, the first anyone outside her circle hears of it may be the photos.
