An Elegant Celebration in the Hills Above Florence at Villa Il Garofalo
Perched in the hills above Florence and overlooking the iconic Duomo, Villa Il Garofalo set the scene for an unforgettable celebration filled with warmth, beauty, and understated elegance.
The Planning
Designed by Elena, a Florence-based wedding planner and the creative mind behind Melograno Wedding Lab, the overall aesthetic was classic, elegant, and effortlessly timeless. The design beautifully reflected Kirstie and Kyle's refined yet relaxed style, blending seamlessly with the romantic charm of Villa Il Garofalo. The carefully styled moments and intimate details were captured by Irene Fucci, an Italian photographer specializing in destination weddings, whose work brings a timeless and emotional perspective to every frame.
A Romantic Proposal
Kirstie's engagement began most romantically: during breakfast in a private cabana in Barbados, where Kyle had thoughtfully arranged all of her favorite dishes along with champagne before getting down on one knee. It was an intimate and beautiful moment that marked the beginning of their holiday together.
Elegant Wedding Attire
Kirstie wore a stunning lace gown by London-based designer Suzanne Neville, a perfect blend of timeless elegance and modern femininity. The dress featured a structured corset bodice and a soft, flowing skirt that moved with effortless grace, creating a silhouette that felt both refined and romantic.
The bridesmaids wore elegant gowns in a rich, deep blue silk that perfectly complemented the overall color palette of the wedding. Kyle opted for a timeless black-tie look, wearing an impeccably tailored tuxedo with a classic silhouette.
A Celebration of Italian Cuisine
The catering was beautifully curated by Galateo Ricevimenti, a Florence-based company known for sourcing local ingredients and celebrating authentic Tuscan flavors. The aperitivo was served roaming-style, with elegant finger food passed among guests and paired with Prosecco, fresh cocktails, and Aperol Spritz.
Florals and Decor
The floral design was created by Flowers Living, a true Italian excellence in floral artistry. Kirstie's bouquet, in soft tones of white and blue, felt delicate and romantic, perfectly complementing the timeless elegance of the day.
A Sweet Italian Tradition
The wedding cake was a classic Italian millefoglie, a traditional dessert made of layers of delicate puff pastry filled with light cream and finished with a generous dusting of powdered sugar. Prepared live in front of the guests by the catering team, it became one of the most anticipated moments of the evening.
As Kirstie and Kyle finished the cake themselves, gently dusting it with powdered sugar, it was a simple yet incredibly meaningful moment that perfectly captured the happiness and warmth of the celebration.
